How to get Diamond Status with Hilton

Earlier in the month I wrote about how Hyatt were giving out Hyatt Diamond Status to anyone who asked for a Status Match. After being flooded with requests, only a small few that were eligible got matched to Diamond (with many others only being offered Platinum).

Well there’s a new offer on the table now; Hilton are offering Diamond Status through to January 11th 2016. Here’s how to do it.

This offer is valid from now through to January 11th 2016 and your status match with Hilton HHonors will be valid through March 31st, 2017.

It’s really easy to do. Send an email to with your HHonors number, Email address, Name, along with a screenshot (or membership card) of your current tier with a different hotel loyalty program. From all reports SPG Gold and Higher, IHG Platinum and Aspire, Hyatt Diamond and a couple of other programs are matching.

If you’re successful you’ll receive an email telling you that you’ve been upgraded to Diamond Status and your Hhonors account will then reflect the same.

Hilton is my favorite hotel loyalty program which for Diamond members gives points promos and bonuses, Free Wifi, Free breakfast, upgrades to suites and higher category rooms, Executive Lounge access where available and Diamond rewards. It also has a very good selection of different type of properties around the world.

You can check out the rest of the benefits here

This is a great offer, however as with every status match, they generally don’t happen very often and better to get in quick just in case they decide to pull the offer early. If you don’t plan on staying or maintaining status with Hilton post 2016, it may be better to do the Diamond challenge in future years when you really will make the most of the benefits.
