Hotel Review: Langham Place Hong Kong

After a stay at another hotel before arriving here, the minute we stepped into the perfumed smell of the LP lobby we were in heaven! We couldn’t wait to stay the 5 nights!

On arrival we were given cold face towels and the check in process was fast and friendly. The bell boy took us up into the lift with a “Welcome to our place” as did reception…it was made to feel like you were a well valued guest in their home!
Our room wasn’t available at 12pm but we went across to the LP Mall which was sparking clean and an abundance of shops and eating places.

Upon getting the card to our room and seeing our room…I wasn’t happy. I booked an Essential Place and they gave me according to my knowledge on here..a Vital Place.
A quick call to their smart operator (the best thing ever invented for a hotel…just press 0 for any enquiry at all) and they upgraded us to the Essential Place studio which was a corner room. So…my guess is that the essential place normal rooms are on a higher floor and that’s the only difference between that and vital place.

Our room was stunning…double windows with wonderful views across the city. Two types of curtains. A huge LCD TV with Smart Angel Tracey explaining how everything works…what a great idea!
Bathroom was awesome….all marble and glass with various amenities including 2 bottles of water daily, razor, comb, cotton buds, shampoo, body wash, comb and more.
Towels were large, fresh and cuddly! King Size bed was fantastic….fluffy pillows, pillow menu with 6 choices and great linen.
Bathrobes, slippers, a safe and stationary set make up most of the amenities available.
Our room also had a microwave, fax machine, coffee machine and mini bar with loads of choices.

The LP has its own “magazine” which has room service menus, ideas on places to go in HK and staff recommendations. All hotels should have one..we loved it.

We ate at The Place one evening and the food was simply fantastic! Complimentary bread and the flavours of the food and service were wonderful.
Likewise we had room service breakfast, dinner and snacks during our stay. All excellent and reasonably priced. I am still missing the Caramelised Banana dessert I had 4 times during my stay!!

The lifts are quick…never have to wait longer than one min. Staff are friendly…always say hello and make you feel so welcome.

The pool on the 41st floor is wonderful. After a day of walking around the city it was great to go into the pool and then the Jacuzzi to relax.
Didn’t go to Chuan Spa, treatments quite costly but looked fantastic from what we could see.

Easy to use transport from the hotel…caught numerous taxis which we got straight away. The MTR is a 5 min walk through the walk way to the mall…so easy to get around.

Portal was a great place to use…bar and snack area and 10 computers to use for guests. Never had a problem having to wait for one…though I imagine first thing in the morning it would be busy. Even can have drinks delivered to you while you browse the net.

Minor gripes…Hotel still had blocked funds on my Visa even after checking out and paying. This should be released upon exit..not 10 days later.
Also…the DVD in the room kept having loose chords, but not worth complaining about.
Internet access if HK140 for 24hours….considering Portal is free we didn’t use it.

All in all, this is the ONLY place i would stay if back in HK. From the quality of the room, to the staff, the food…it is simply a jewel in the busy area of Mongkok…the most populated area on earth!

Next time you are in HK go and stay at “my place”! You wont regret it.

Rating: 5 Loved it!
