Hotel Review: Crown Promenade Melbourne 2

Yes, its def not Towers, and doesn’t have the fresh and modern lines of Metropol, but Promenade still do an OK job for a hotel within a casino complex.

After using the conference centre for business (outstanding facilities and service by their staff) I checked in to the Corner Studio room (one day from the suite)
Nice size room and sep walk in bathroom (shower only) as well as a small lounge area near the huge bay windows.

Linen is fresh and clean, everything tidy..but signs of wear and tear of the furniture, walls, desk etc.

Room service was more expensive! than the other 2 Crown Hotels and the quality definitely not as good.

Housekeeping were efficient and prompt at all times.

Longer walk to the Casino itself than the other 2, and the Promenade does attract a different clientele to Towers completely.

Lifts were quick and usually empty. Good hotel security at night.

Not as many toiletries as the other 2 hotels (no toothbrush or razor and the shampoo.condition is a very cheap standard)
No turn down service but ice available on every floor from a dispenser.

Service at front desk, SLOW and incredibly rude and arrogant duty manager who just sat there playing on the Internet while the staff tried to cope and he walked away from problems people were having (quite a few complaints)

No day spa, but both Towers and Metropol have one. Does have a small swimming pool.

Slow to get car from Valet and so full that taxis couldn’t drive in to their driveway.

No Free Wifi, cost $22 for 24 hours access and service was quite slow.

If you get a cheap rate, book a Studio or a Suite…the base rooms here are just too small and getting older (by crown standards)

Rating: 2 Metropol or Towers any day
